Surgeons from Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery, one of the largest orthopedic practices in New York, partner with the Joint Replacement Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, a state-of-the-art, comprehensive facility dedicated entirely to the surgical replacement of hip and knee joints.

The Joint Replacement Center team also includes:

Your case manager and navigator will help you every step of the process—pre-op, surgery, post-op and discharge. They can also connect you with patients who have had a joint replacement at Montefiore Nyack Hospital and are willing to share their experience.

Jason Fond, MD, Director, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Nyack Hospital

Jason E. Fond, MD, is a dual-board certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery , specializing in joint reconstruction and replacement. He received his medical doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center, both in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Fond was fellowship trained at Virginia Sports Medicine Institute at Georgetown University. Dr. Fond is the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, an Associate Clinical Professor and team physician at Dominican College and the team physician at St. Joseph’s Regional High School.

Dr. SimonJordan Simon, MD, Director, The Joint Replacement Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital

Jordan A. Simon, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery Dr. Simon is dual board certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He routinely performs complex surgeries of the Hip, Knee and Shoulder. Dr. Simon received his medical doctorate from NYU School of Medicine and completed his residency at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases, Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Simon was fellowship trained at Lake Tahoe Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is the Director of the Joint Replacement Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Dr. BhadraArup Bhadra, MD, Director, Orthopedic Robotics at Montefiore Nyack Hospital

Arup K. Bhadra, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery specializing in joint replacement surgery, including robotic-assisted knee/hip replacement surgery. He received his master’s degree from Cardiff University mastering in Orthopedic Engineering and completed his residency at Homerton University Hospital and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, both in the United Kingdom. Dr. Bhadra was fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at University of Louisville and in Sports Medicine from Indiana University. Dr. Bhadra an Assistant Professor Orthopedic Surgery at New York Medical School, active in medical research and is published in peer reviewed journals. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali.

Barry Kraushaar, MD

Barry S. Kraushaar, MD, is a dual-board certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery, specializing in joint preservation and replacement. He received his medical doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, both in the Bronx, NY. Dr. Kraushaar was fellowship trained at Virginia Sports Medicine Institute at Georgetown University. Dr. Kraushaar is the Medical Director, Team Physician and Assistant Clinical Professor at Dominican College.

 

Dr. Medici

Mark Medici, MD

Mark Medici, MD, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon at Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery, specializing in joint replacement and sports medicine. He received his medical doctorate from New York Medical College and completed his residency at New York Medical College and Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Medici was fellowship trained at Staten Island Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. Medici is the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital and a lifelong Rockland County resident.

 

Dr. Murray

Patrick Murray, MD

Patrick J. Murray, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Murray is dual board certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. Dr. Murray received his medical doctorate from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed his residency at George Washington University. Dr. Murray was fellowship trained at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Murray grew up in Pelham, New York, and has strong family ties to the region. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Murray likes to spend his time watching, playing or coaching ice hockey.

 

Dr. Popowitz

Richard Popowitz, MD

Richard L. Popowitz, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at  Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Popowitz is dual board-certified in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. He received his medical doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency at University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Popowitz was fellowship trained at Stanford University. He is an Associate Professor at Dominican college and a former Assistant Team Physician for the Miami Marlins.
