Schedule the week after your menstrual period. If you’ve gone through menopause, any time is fine!

BRING ALONG

Bring prior mammogram images if this is your first visit with The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital.

AVOID WEARING

Deodorants, antiperspirants, powders, lotions, creams, and perfumes may contain metallic particles that could be visible on your mammogram.

HOW TO
REDUCE PAIN

Reduce pain by taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen an hour before your mammogram to help ease discomfort.
