Children are special patients; for them, as well as their loved ones, a few hours in a hospital bed can seem like days. Nyack Hospital's Pediatric Department has created a child-friendly environment that helps to soothe and reassure our young patients and their families during their stay.

Our inpatient unit is staffed by personnel who are experts in caring for children, and a pediatric hospitalist is in-house 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our unit features a playroom filled with toys, books and videos, two Ronald McDonald rooms, VCR/DVD and video game system.

Children staying in the Pediatrics unit also benefit from Nyack Hospital’s Pet Therapy Program.  Specially trained pets may visit our patients periodically.
