Nyack – At the 110th Annual Silver Tea, The Nyack Hospital Auxiliary presented David Freed, DHA, President and CEO of Nyack Hospital, with a donation of $40,000, representing funds raised between January and May, 2010. Proceeds were raised through the tireless efforts of the Auxilians who generate funds through the Hospital Gift Shop, Thrift Shop, membership dues, and other events held throughout the year. Dr. Freed accepted the check on behalf of Nyack Hospital and thanked the Auxilians for their hard work and dedication.
Auxiliary President Brigitte Simon also recognized and thanked the over 60 volunteer auxilians who attended the tea, especially those from The Gift Shop, the Thrift Shop, and the Production Committee.
Denise Roma, RD, CDE, Community Health Educator, presented an overview of the many services offered by the Patient and Community Education Department at Nyack Hospital highlighting the Lose to Win Program, diabetes and stroke awareness programs and many others.
The Auxiliary is looking for motivated and energetic volunteers who can bring new ideas and excitement to fundraising efforts for Nyack Hospital. Your community connections, career skills, and unique background can be a great asset to The Auxiliary, as well as to the community Nyack Hospital serves.
