Kennedy Funding Invitational Tennis Tournament and Nyack Hospital Join Together to Support the Fight Against Breast Cancer
For the fifth year, the Kennedy Funding Invitational Tennis Tournament is bringing world class tennis to Rockland County as it continues the fight against breast cancer. One of the premier charitable tennis tournaments in the nation, this year’s Invitational will be held on July 7-11 at Dellwood Country Club in New City.
This four-day action packed event includes a men’s tournament, an expanded women’s tournament, a Pro-Am Celebrity Match and a Saturday night luau/dinner. Proceeds from the tournament will go to support The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. The Center is a first-class comprehensive provider of diagnostic and treatment services with an emphasis on cancer prevention, early detection and personalized care.
The tournament attracts top tennis professional players, and this year is no different. Players scheduled to participate include 2009 Kennedy Funding Invitational champion John Inser, whose accomplishments include a # 2 ranking in America, an extremely powerful serve and a U.S. Open win over then #5-ranked Andy Roddick; Grand Slam regular Guillermo Cañas; #7 world ranked and 2008 Kennedy Funding Invitational Women’s champion Victoria Azarenka; and American sensation Melanie Oudin, who captured the 2009 Kennedy Funding Women’s Championship and shocked the world with her performance at the US Open.
General admission to all tournament matches is free. For additional information about this year’s players and scheduling, please visit kennedyfundinginvitational.com.
