Nyack Hospital realizes how important it is for our patients to receive visitors during their hospitalization. In order encourage a healing environment, please follow these general guidelines for visitation:
Medical/Surgical Units:
11:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Intermediate Cardiac Care Center:
Visiting hours are flexible in order to meet the needs of patient and family. The Intermediate Care Center does not maintain restrictions on visiting hours. However, we do request that visitors announce their presence by stopping at the nursing station desk prior to entering the patient’s room.
Mother-Baby/Gynecology: Father: 24 hours Grandparents: 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Siblings: Noon - 8:30 p.m. Other visitors: Noon - 8:30 p.m. Significant other and Grandparents: after delivery
Pediatrics: General : 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
There is a limit of 2 visitors at a time
One person (parent or grandparent) may stay overnight
Visitors younger than age 14 years must be approved by the Manager or Charge Nurse
Pediatric Special Care Unit: Parents, grandparents, and siblings age 14 years or older: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Visitors other than those listed above must be approved by the Manager or Charge Nurse
Recovery Center: All visitors: Saturdays, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Other visiting times are made at the discretion of the program and/or clinical director.
Anyone below the age of fourteen (14) must be accompanied by an adult.
Other visiting restrictions may be requested by the attending physician, the patient, or the patient’s family. The head/charge nurse may request visitors to leave, in the event that the presence of the visitor is disruptive to the therapeutic environment of the patient being visited or to other patients on the unit. Security should be contacted for assistance for assistance as needed.
If visitation is restricted as part of the patient’s treatment regimen, clinical justification of such restriction will be explained to the patient/family, and to the extent possible, determined with their participation. This discussion/justification will be documented in the medical record.
All visitors will be required to obtain a visitor’s pass from the Information Desk Receptionist in the Main Lobby. Non-patient visitors must obtain a color sticker pass, also available at the Information Desk Receptionist in the Main Lobby.
