 : Flu Shots
Nyack Hospital will be offering flu shots for the general public. Adults ages 65 and over do not have a co-pay, the flu vaccine is free of charge to them. All other individuals will be responsible for a co-pay. Dates and locations are as follows:

 : Coping With Cancer Skills Workshop
Starting Monday, 10/17, a six-week workshop hosted by Gilda's Club Westchester will teach Coping with Cancer Skills from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. Dates of workshop are the following Mondays in October and November: 10/17, 10/24, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/14, and 11/21. Space is limited. RSVP required. Thursday, October 27, 2016 : Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) Forum
Nyack Hospital is hosting an educational forum on the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP), which is a statewide initiative to transform and improve healthcare in New York State. The event features guest speakers from the Montefiore Hudson Valley Collaborative including: Damara Gutnick, MD, Chief Medical Officer; Adam Goldstein, Special Projects; and Marlene Ripa, Director Systems Transformation. Mark Geller, M.D., President and CEO, Nyack Hospital will also be available to answer questions.  

Rockland County residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the Nyack Hospital Transformation project which includes renovation of the Hospital’s Emergency Department and addition of a “medical village”, all part of the DSRIP Program in the Hudson Valley.  DSRIP addresses initiatives designed to reduce hospitalizations, improve access to disease management programs and preventative services, and to encourage community involvement in health and wellness through integrated healthcare systems. Nyack Hospital is a member of the Montefiore Hudson Valley DSRIP Collaborative. 

The forum is open to the public,free of charge and starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Krutz Auditorium on the ground floor at Nyack Hospital.

: F.O.R.C.E Support Group (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered)

Robbi Kempner, M.D., F.A.C.S., Medical Director of Breast and Women's Health Prevention Services at Nyack Hospital, will be guest speaker at the F.O.R.C.E. support group meeting for people facing the risk of hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Join us from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the McCormack Conference Room of Nyack Hospital's Breast Center. There is no cost to attend. Registration is requested by emailing janetg[at]facingourrisk[dot]org.
Tuesday, November 15, 2016 : Sharpening Your Diabetes Skills Symposium
(for Health Care Professionals only)

Nyack Hospital is hosting a half-day symposium, “Sharpening Your Diabetes Skills: 2016 Update and Review”, for health care professionals from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Krutz Auditorium. This multi-disciplinary symposium, targeted to nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and dietitians, will feature guest speakers including a certified diabetes educator, a clinical pharmacist, an endocrinologist, as well as nurses and dietitians. Nyack Hospital will award 4.0 contact hours to nurses who attend the entire program. The course fee is nurses who do not work at Nyack Hospital is $50; $25 for retired nurses and nursing students; and $75 for non-Nyack Hospital employees. Nyack Hospital and Highland Medical employees may attend this course for free. Registration deadline is November 10, 2016. Thursday, December 22, 2016 : Blood Drive
Nyack Hospital will hold a Blood Drive from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Krutz Auditorium. Walk-ins are welcome. Donors are advised to eat and drink well beforehand and bring I.D. with them.
