Union State Bank presented Nyack Hospital with a $100,000 donation at a reception held this week at the Union State Bank Cancer Center at Nyack Hospital. On hand at this ceremony were key representatives from Nyack Hospital and the Nyack Hospital Foundation, Union State Bank and KeyBank. The proceeds from this donation, one of many that Union State Bank has made to Nyack Hospital, will be directed towards the acquisition of digital mammography systems.
According to Nyack Hospital President & CEO David Freed, who accepted the donation at the ceremony and reception, “The Union State Bank Cancer Center at Nyack Hospital has been providing outstanding medical care to the residents of Rockland County. The addition of digital mammography, which is considered to be the ‘gold standard,’ will further enhance its capabilities, continuing to bring the best of cancer care close to home. We are enormously grateful to Union State Bank for their commitment to our community.”
“On behalf of the board, officers and employees of Union State, we are thrilled to have been a part of this important contribution to Rockland County. It is wonderful to know that every time one of us drives by or visits Nyack Hospital we can look up at the Union State Bank name on the building as a living testament to the difference a good corporate citizen can make in a community and to its residents,” commented Thomas E. Hales, Chairman & CEO of Union State Bank.
As women fight the battle against breast cancer, the need for advanced technology becomes more and more imperative. Digital mammography technology expands the ability to detect breast cancer earlier in more women and improves cancer detection in women with dense breasts, women younger than 50 and those that are perimenopausal. That technology, combined with the personalized care provided by a team of specialized healthcare professionals, enables the Union State Bank Cancer Center at Nyack Hospital to offer the level of care these women demand, in a environment close to home.
Nyack Hospital is a 375-bed community acute care medical and surgical hospital located in Rockland County, NY. Founded in 1895, it is a member of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System. For additional information, please visit our web site at www.nyackhospital.org.
