NYACK HOSPITAL OFFERS MINI-MEDICAL SCHOOL
Nyack Hospital’s Continuing Medical Education Committee will host another series of its popular Mini-Medical School during May and June. This special series is designed for anyone looking to learn more about the latest advances in medicine or young people and students thinking about medical careers.
Each lecture is presented by a member of the Nyack Hospital medical staff, and a question and answer session will follow. The following programs are available:
May 5 – “Breast Cancer: Screening, Detection & Treatment, 2008” presented by Breast Surgeon M. Michele Blackwood, MD
May 12 – “Stress and Your Health” presented by Internist Charles Glassman, MD
May 19 – “Autism – Is It Over-Diagnosed?” presented by Pediatric Neurologist Bruce Roseman, MD
June 2 – “Laparoscopic Surgery” presented by Minimally Invasive Surgeon Aleksandr Rakhlin, MD
June 9 – “Recognizing the Signs of an Acute Stroke or Acute Heart Attack” presented by Emergency Medicine Physician Oscar Marcilla, MD
June 16 – “COPD – Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease” presented by Pulmonologist Benjamin Chang, MD
Lectures are held from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Nyack Hospital. A one-time registration fee of $10 will allow anyone interested to attend all six lectures or just the ones of interest.
