Free Basic Disaster Life Support Training™ Program offered at Nyack Hospital
Nyack Hospital and the New York Consortium for Emergency Preparedness Continuing Education (NYCEPCE) will host a free Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS) Training Program on April 10 & 17, from 5:00 – 9:00 pm at Nyack Hospital.
BDLS™ is a comprehensive 8-hour course outlining the healthcare professional’s role in the public health and incident management systems, community mental health, and special needs of vulnerable populations, including natural and human-made disasters, explosive, radiological, biological and chemical events, and psychosocial aspects of disasters.
This 8-hour program meets the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Code of Federal Regulations 1910.120 requirement for Hazardous Materials Awareness.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the AMA textbook, official AMA completion card & 7.5 American Medical Association PRA Category 1 Credits™, equivalent CEUs from the New York State Nurses Association and CE credits through HVREMSCO.
This course is designed specifically for physicians, nurses, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, and EMTs.
