Create a customer friendly environment utilizing exemplary customer service skills; greet patients upon entry to medical office, obtain all pertinent demographic information from patients and family members; schedule and verify appointments. Maintain a well organized and friendly patient reception environment.
Spanish speaking is REQUIRED. High School Diploma or equivalent. One to two years experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a medical office or hospital setting. Must have a general understanding of medical office procedures, billing, insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid, and ICD-9 and CPT coding. Must have experience working with computers. Employee must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Employee must be able to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to physicians, physician extender(s), patients, patient family members, and employees of the medical practice. Employee must have basic knowledge of computers and be comfortable documenting information in an electronic health record.
