The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will oversee care and nursing activities in the pre-natal clinic and will be responsible for monitoring and working closely with the pre-natal techs in regards to training, teaching, and will assist the Nurse Manager in the disciplinary process. Will assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate options and services to effect and appropriate, individualized plan for the patient across the continuum of care. Using independent judgment and discretion, the continuum must be reassessed as an ongoing process for the individual being served by the clinical nurse coordinator. The clinical nurse coordinator will oversee and evaluate patient care in the clinic while promoting a safe environment for patients, families, visitors and staff. The clinical nurse coordinator will support the nurse manager and will lead by example and serve as a liaison between the clinic and other hospital departments. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for managing, delegating, coordinating and providing nursing care through utilization of the nursing process. Will assume responsibility, as necessary, for the assessment, treatment and care of pre-natal patients. Displays an understanding of the developmental needs of the prenatal patient when planning and implementing treatment. Enforce the proper application of hospital policies and procedures regarding appropriateness and timeliness of clinical care given. Can effectively recommend that staff be disciplined to the Nurse Manager when the care is below the standard level.
Bachelor Degree Nursing. 2 years exp. In pre-natal clinic preferred. N.Y.S. Nursing License, Current N.Y.S. Registration. BLS, NRP. Must be bi-lingual/fluent in Spanish .
