Screening-Diagnostic Services

The American Cancer Society recommends that all women over the age of 40 have regular breast exams and mammograms.  The frequency of such examinations and the specific age at which screenings should begin depend upon an individual’s risk factors for breast cancer, such as personal and family medical history.

Screening may include:

• The documentation of your personal and family medical history;
• A physical examination;
• Radiologic studies, such as mammography and breast ultrasound; and
• Genetic Testing.

Early detection, as well as the most advanced medical treatment, is the key to effective treatment and survival.

The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital offers the following Radiologic studies to aid in screening and diagnosis:

• Digital Mammography
• Interventional Breast Biopsy
• Breast MRI
• Breast Ultrasound
