Especially for...The Impaired Driver

Our experience has shown that the intoxicated driver may differ from the broader substance abusing population. He or she may not yet be substance dependent or subject to the severe biological, psychological or social stresses evident in advanced alcoholism. The Impaired Driver Program is designed specifically to address the needs of first and second time DUI/DWI offenders.

The Addiction Services of Nyack Hospital:

• Meets the required treatment criteria of New York and New Jersey law enforcement agencies.
• Provides a group setting focused on early intervention, harm reduction and personal responsibility.
• Works in close collaboration with attorneys, probation/parole officers and employers.
• Offers additional treatment, referrals and psychiatric services when needed.
• Encourages participation in 12 step oriented and other community based support groups.
