Healthy eating tips for teens that will make you feel better both physically and mentally.
- Small changes over time add up to BIG results. Try switching from soda to seltzer or water. Adding lemon or cucumber slices to your water or seltzer makes a refreshing treat. Ice-cold fat free or low fat milk is refreshing and packs lots of nutrition.
The more hydrated you are, the better you will feel.
- Power snacks give you energy to keep you going all day. Try a banana or apple with peanut or almond butter or string cheese and whole grain crackers. Raw veggies and hummus are a great snack as well.
- Pass on the super sized fast foods. If you do eat at fast food restaurant, choose some of the healthier options many are offering like grilled foods or the lower calorie menu items advertised. Try veggies as a pizza topping.
- Satisfy your sweet tooth with nutrient packed fruit. Frozen grapes make a refreshing snack in the summer. Or try frozen yogurt topped with berries
