HERE ARE SOME CLAIMS YOU SHOULD BE SUSPICIOUS OF:

PROMOTES RAPID WEIGHT LOSS
Slow steady weight loss is more likely to last than rapid weight loss.  A healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week.

QUANTITIES AND LIMITATIONS
Be wary of any diet that allows UNLIMITED quantities of food, such as grapefruit or cabbage. Avoid any diet that eliminates or severely restricts carbohydrates.  Even if you take a multivitamin, you’ll miss critical nutrients.

RIGID MENUS
When a diet promotes a very rigid way of eating, ask yourself:  “Can I eat this way for the rest of my life?”  If the answer is no, it probably is not the healthiest food plan for you.

NO NEED TO EXERCISE
Be suspicious of any plan that says you do not need to exercise to lose weight. Regular physical activity is essential for good health and healthy weight management.  You should aim for 30-60 minutes of activity on most days.
